MFC Aquatic Exercise Certification (18 CECs)
Workout Session
Leaders will learn how to design, modify and instruct safe, effective and appropriate fitness programs to meet the needs of apparently healthy individuals or special populations who have received medical clearance in an aquatic setting. Course will include both deep and shallow water training.

Keynote
Christine has been very fortunate to have been part of a team that has worked in partnership to bring medical fitness to China. With four visits to this unique culture, her work and subsequent adventure travels throughout the country, Christine has a unique insight into working with diverse groups of people. She has also worked in Jamaica and Mexico and has learned so much. She has got some crazy stories, inspiring memories to share, and is honored to have these experiences enhance her understanding of others and how she can better support her participants in Winnipeg.
Chair Yoga for those with Disabilities (2 CECs)
Workout Session
Can be beneficial for individuals with disabilities chronic health conditions through both the physical postures and breath-work. Each pose can be modified or adapted to meet the needs of the student. Yoga asanas can be performed while seated in a chair or wheelchair. In this yoga class we will experience the class from the perspective of someone who has a disability.
The Full Range of Mobility – Assessing and addressing mobility. Make any exercise work for the diversity of your participants’ abilities. (2 CECs)
Workout Session
Sometimes we ignore it, sometimes we’re not aware of it, and sometimes we get obsessed with it. Every one of us moves differently through a range of motion, from optimal to limited to dysfunctional. Let’s look at how we can quickly assess the mobility of our participants and determine how this should or should not affect our exercise selection. Is there an ideal range of motion in every exercise? What happens if we are restricted within that range or work beyond that range? Let’s tackle these questions together as we explore the full range of mobility.
Advanced Resistance Training for Group Classes (2 CECs)

Do you teach a lot of resistance training classes and find you’re running out of ideas? Incorporating multi-joint movements with balance, coordination, speed, and agility are great ways to spice up a strength training session. Leave this session with fresh ideas to multi-task your participants’ workouts, keeping their interest high while improving their strength. Go beyond the usual.
MELT Method Connective Tissue Hydration and Extensibility Training (2 CECs)

Prehab and Posthab working with those with Joint Replacements (2 CEC)

Exercises you perform prior to joint replacement surgery can strengthen your knee, improve flexibility, and help you recover faster. How to work with those that have been cleared for Exercise; what are the lingering challenges post surgery?
Cooperative Fitness – Forging the Mental and Social Aspects of Fitness with the Physical (2 CECs)
Workout Session
Looking for a way to challenge yourself and your participants on a different level? Join us as we explore how to design and deliver cooperative fitness challenges that will motivate your class to work together and accomplish more work as a group. This style of class puts the entire class against a task, never dividing the group into teams working against each other. Exercise becomes a means to an end goal, as opposed to being the end goal.
Zumba Toning Masterclass (2 CECs)
Workout Session
Zumba Toning is for those who want to party, but put extra emphasis on toning and sculpting to define those muscles. The challenge of adding resistance by using Zumba® Toning Sticks (or light weights), helps you focus on specific muscle groups, so you (and your muscles) stay engaged. Lightweight maraca-like toning sticks enhance the sense of rhythm and coordination while toning target zones, including arms, core, and lower body.
ELDOA Deep Postural Fascial Extensibility Exercises (2 CECs)
Workout Session
New to Winnipeg, you will improve your posture, decompress you spine, normalize myofascial tension, muscle tone, and the autonomic nervous system, while improving spinal proprioception, overall kinetic sense and venous return to the joints. You learn the five “classic ELDOAS” which are “stretches” of the spine and fascial lines that are easy and fun to learn and great for travel and sitting at your desk. Great for all seniors and athletes alike. Great for relieving stress, tension, and trauma. Great for pre-hab and rehab.

Workout Session
(warm water Tai Chi) A water-based total body strengthening and relaxation progression that bridges east and west philosophies, and integrates mental, physical, and spiritual energy. This introduction will take place in the warm water pool (please note this session is longer than others in this timeslot).
